This program is designed to give children basic first aid knowledge and awareness and show them their role in the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) system. Four levels offer age-specific training and activities for grades one to four.
Level 1:
Duration: 1 hour
- 5-6 years old
- Red Cross
- I am a PeopleSaver
- Check for safety
- Call for help
- Conclusion
Level 2:
Duration: 2 hours
- 6-8 years old
- As above, plus:
- Check for safety: Poisons
- Check for a person: Cuts, Scrapes and Burns
Level 3:
Duration: 3 hours
- 8-10 years old
- As above, plus:
- Care for a person: Choking, Bleeding, Comfort, Poisons and Burns
Level 4:
Duration: 4 hours
- 10-12 years old
- As above, plus:
- Care for a person: Unconsciousness, Choking, Bleeding, Comfort, Poisons, Broken Bones and Burns
