Are you unsure, had minimal training, have never been a lifeguard-instructor, or maybe your just curious about the most up-to-date information…THIS ONES FOR YOU!!
As part of our Aquatic Programming, we are putting on a two & half-day INFO PACKED seminar on everything you need to know about managing a pool!
Over the many years of training at pools (specifically small towns), I have seen confusion, frustration, lack of knowledge, and the inability to contact someone for information.
Things we will touch on:
-GENERAL: facility rules, events, wages, equipment (rescue and guard specific), provincial legislation, health regulations, scheduling, EMS (ambulance) involvement in drownings, access routes, inquests post fatality, water tests.
-ASSISTANT LIFEGUARDS: training content, skills, roles, responsibilities, differences to a Lifeguard.
-LIFEGUARDS: Inservices – how to run; what to practice; etc, training content, skills, roles, responsibilities, incident and accident forms that actually help them do their job, legalities.
-WATER SAFETY INSTRUCTOR (WSI): lesson registrations, different water instructional programs, standards for each program, training content, expectations of a WSI, legalities.
-AQUATIC SAFETY PLAN: Importance, content, requirements, difference between Pool vs Waterfront plan.
There will be people from all different pools and areas attending. Not only will you gain valuable knowledge from the content, but it is a great networking and idea sharing time.
